See our Apologia science lava experiment

We just had our first go at loading a video on to youtube. My 11 year old did the editing and my 9year old did the filming. My 14 year old destroyed the set.

I decided to do this because I was being lazy and looking for some of the Apologia General Science experiments online. I was pleasently surprised to find some family youtube experiments of other homeschool kids doing their experiments, so we decided to add to the experiments online. I found this was an excellent outlet for a boy how loves to make videos but doesn’t really have many meaningful topics.

Wow, Great idea. Looked like lots of fun and hands on deck.

Oh what fun – the video and the experiment!! Do you have a classy camera?

    • No Jeanne. The thing to look for was what format the program saves the files. If you want to use windows live media it need to be in a file .mov(I think) to use. We ended up buying a video editing software that was the biggest expense. You can often get them for student prices and that saves heaps.

You wrote that you were looking for Apologia General experiments? Do you have kids who are doing that curric also?
We are doing the General Science this year, and I find videos on youtube and post them on my blog for all my “class” to watch. =) They’re not of the experiments, but just videos that can help and go along with each module.

I *do* post (on another blog) about our experiments after we do them. Here is the first module.
